About the Event

What do tulips, onions, daffodils, carrots, hyacinths, and potatoes have in common? They are all geophytes! Geophytes are plants with structures that store their energy and water below the ground. These underground plant structures include bulbs, rhizomes, tubers, corms, and taproots.

Join us on Saturday, April 1 and learn about the geophytes planted throughout Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden. Meander through the thousands of tulips and daffodils blooming in the Pattern Garden, touch and taste the root crops growing the Kitchen Garden, and create works of art using a variety of plant materials. This is a free, family-friendly event.
