Photography Policy

 

This policy applies to all professional and non-professional portrait photographers using any area of Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden at any time.  All sessions in Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden must be scheduled.

 

Professional Photography

  • Includes any session where there is exchange of money

  • All sessions must be scheduled by the photographer through the Garden’s office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm) at least 48 hours before session

  • Fee:  $100 for 2-hour session must be paid in advance through the Garden’s office during business hours (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am until 5:00 pm) at least 48 hours before session

  • This fee is not refundable if you cancel

  • In the event of inclement weather, portrait sittings may be rescheduled

  • Portrait appointments start at the time reserved, not when the subject or photographer arrives

  • The Garden reserves the right to restrict the times and locations of portrait sittings

  • The Garden is not closed to previously scheduled groups or to the general public during photography sessions

 

Individuals who are not professional portrait photographers and are not charging a fee and/or who will not be using the photographs for commercial purposes in any form may photograph in the Garden without a fee. 

 

General Guidelines for all Photographers

  • Photographers and subject may not stand in planting beds

  • Light stands and equipment may not be placed in planting beds

  • Photographers and subjects must remain on pathways

  • No glitter, confetti, etc.

  • Do not disturb or remove plants, plant labels, containers, Garden furniture, etc

  • Drone photography is not allowed at the Garden

While visiting, please . . . 

  • Respect our plants and remain on paths.

  • Keep your children in sight.

  • Pets are not allowed.  Service animals are always welcome.

  • No Smoking.  Keep our Garden smoke and tobacco free.  Tobacco is a threat to our plants.  Discarded cigarettes can cause mulch fires in our garden beds. 

  • Photography is always welcome but should not interfere with the enjoyment of other guests.  Professional photographers, please contact the office to coordinate your visit.

  • Artists are always welcome.  Please contact our office to coordinate your visit.  

  • Please follow any requests made by our Garden staff.

  • Visit the Garden often and please leave the Garden as you found it!
