Giving Tuesday

#GivingTuesday, a global day of giving, is December 1st.

At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings all of us together.  Generosity gives everyone the power to make a positive change.

IT’S A DAY FOR EVERYONE TO

STAND TOGETHER AND GIVE BACK.

Unfortunately, the non-profit sector has been hit hard by this pandemic. All of the Garden’s indoor events such as weddings, birthday celebrations and Christmas parties had to cancel. These events are a major source of income for the Garden and a crucial part of our annual budget.  The reality is that the Garden relies on its essential workers, volunteers and donors for its continued vitality and excellence.

So, on this #GivingTuesday, please consider a gift to continue the Garden’s essential community driven programs, such as:

  • Our Spectacular Holiday Blooms (3500 tulips and hundreds of other holiday blooms such as magnolia, lotus, crocus, daffodils, sunflowers and foxgloves)

  • Donation of vegetables grown from our own raised beds to local food relief (1017 lbs. this summer bringing the total to 4900 lbs. since 2015)

  • Maintaining our garden as a place of escape and solitude so that our community can visit throughout the year

  • The addition of the Conifer & Woody Plant Collection and the Wetland Garden and expansions to the Discovery Garden and Japanese Garden vignettes

  • Partnerships with the Kernersville Little Theatre to safely perform six plays this summer on our event lawn and with the Red Cross collecting nearly 450 life-saving pints of blood hosted during 13 blood drives so far this year

From all of us at Paul J. Ciener Botanical Garden, THANK YOU for your support on this #GivingTuesday and for every single day you help to enable our mission, “…inspire, enlighten and connect people of all ages to the world of plants, gardening and horticulture and to surprise visitors with our beauty and our scope.”

Since #GivingTuesday relies on the limitless potential of social media, please share, tag us, and use the hashtag #GivingTuesday with your friends.
