Originally from Jay, Florida, now making her home in the mountains of Southwest, Virginia Amanda Cook acquired a love of bluegrass from her father who played banjo throughout her childhood. In early 2007, Amanda formed bluegrass group High Cotton with her father and received her first taste of performing, fueling a fire to continue on a professional level. In 2013, determined to create her own sound, Amanda stepped out on her own and released her first solo album One Stop Along the Road.  The project made it to the top 150 Roots Music Bluegrass Album Charts for 2014 and 2015 (#61 for 2015 #56 for 2014).  The self-released album also brought Amanda significant regional attention and furthered the desire to grow her brand, resulting in the addition of a full touring band. Amanda has created quite a loyal fan-base through her palpable delivery of  a soul-wrenching song. And her light-hearted, down-to-earth style helps her create an undeniably strong connection with her audience.

In early 2017, Amanda signed with Mountain Fever Records and recorded her debut album on the label "Deep Water."  Her 2nd release with Mountain Fever "Point of No Return" was released April 12, 2019.  Her 3rd full length project, "Narrowing the Gap" was released March 26, 2021.

The John and Bobbie Wolfe Concert Series is a tribute to John Wolfe who retired from the PJCBG Board in 2016.  His friendship with Paul Ciener goes back to the 1970’s and he has since been instrumental with the planning, developing, construction and displays of PJCBG.  Recently, the Garden raised funds to expand our concerts, now known as the John and Bobbie Wolfe Concert Series, to ensure the highest quality of concerts and cultural offerings at the Garden. John’s services also includes those to the Community; the town’s attorney since 1976, holding on to the heritage of Kernersville and specifically serving on the Boards for Körners Folly as well as the Kernersville Museum.

Since 2015, the Concert Series has hosted Mipso, Town Mountain, Balsam Range, Lindsay Lou & the Flatbellys, The Grascals and Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba.  Watch for more concerts coming!
